Choosing window film for your home

Will film work on my windows?

Film can go on sliding glass doors, skylights, large windows, and small French panes, cut to fit any shape or size of flat glass. It's also safe for dual-pane windows and most types of low-e glass — some films suit certain glass better, so we check yours at the estimate.

What kinds of film are there?

Solar control film for heat, glare, and UV; decorative film for privacy and style; safety and security film; bird film; and smart film.

Will it make my rooms darker?

Not unless you want it to. Clear solar control film changes little about how the window looks; reflective or darker film adds privacy; decorative film adds privacy with style.

Does privacy film work at night?

Reflective (one-way) film gives privacy when it's brighter outside than inside — so in the evening, with the lights on indoors, people can see in. For privacy day and night, frosted or decorative film is the better choice.

Will it lower my energy bills?

It can reduce solar heat gain, which eases the load on cooling. How much you save depends on your type of glass, overhangs, your climate, and local energy rates.

Is there a warranty?

Most of our home window films come with a lifetime manufacturer's warranty. We'll confirm the warranty for the film you choose at your quote.

From our work: glare relief that kept the view

One of our favorite home jobs was for an elderly couple. Glare and bright light were painful for her sensitive eyes, but she didn't want to cover her windows — she loves looking out, sightseeing, and bird watching.

The film cut the glare and kept the view. She loved it so much she almost cried — and jobs like that remind us why this work matters.

How it works

  1. Tell us about the windows and what you want to change — by phone, email, or the quote form.
  2. We schedule a day to come to you, look at the glass, and give you a free estimate.
  3. To book the installation, residential and commercial projects need a deposit of half the project total (Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, cash, or check). The deposit is non-refundable.
  4. We install on site: the film is custom-cut to your windows and usually applied to the inside of the glass. It then takes a few days to fully cure, depending on the weather, the glass, and the film.
